Harrison is the leader of Namban Rengo, an international running club based in Tokyo.
Although he has been running for over 15 years, he only started at the age of 26. His first 5km race was just under 30 minutes, and within three years he achieved a 2:48 marathon. His current personal best stands at 2:38.
With a master’s degree in mathematics and statistical engineering, Harrison takes a data-driven approach to training. He believes in “training smart” through experimentation and measurable progress.
Through over a decade of coaching experience, he has come to value not only science, but also the human side of performance. For him, the best training method is not always the most advanced, but the one an athlete can consistently follow.
He has coached a wide range of runners, from complete beginners to sub-3 marathoners, using a highly individualized approach that also emphasizes the psychological aspects of performance.
Beyond running, Harrison is a true hybrid athlete, working in finance while also creating French pastries and dancing across styles from Michael Jackson to K-pop.
